Superior Care Home Begins A New Chapter

When Mary Ellen Thompson opened her skilled care nursing facility in 1972, she called it Superior Care Home because her goal was to supply that quality of care.

Having achieved that goal for the last 41 years, it is now time to begin a new chapter. Superior Care Home is proud to announce that in the coming days construction will begin on the new Superior Care Home. The new facility will offer an array of services never before offered under one roof in Western Kentucky.

Located on a 22 acre campus in Paducah Commerce Park (formerly the Information Age Park) the new community offers a neighborhood concept designed to meet the needs of the individual resident.

Each neighborhood will have its own restaurant-style dining room offering meals cooked-to-order and gathering/lounge areas for residents to socialize and visit with their guests. A Spa Room will feature a whirlpool tub sure to soothe any resident after a successful rehab session.

Each of the 56 private rooms and 16 semi-private rooms will feature en-suite baths and flat screen LCD televisions.

Featuring 18 private suites with efficiency kitchens, our new community will also offer an Assisted Living component. These residents will enjoy such amenities as landscaped patios, daily activities and restaurant-style dining.

The dedicated Memory Care/Alzheimer's neighborhood will be  designed and decorated to provide an atmosphere specifically oriented and suited to serve the special needs of these residents.

Additional details of the new community include areas dedicated to activities, restorative therapy, and a large gathering space to accommodate Spring and Christmas banquets. A chapel will host weekly Mass and be available to all for quiet time and prayer.

If Mary Ellen Thompson had been able to see into the future, she might have thought of the words of Eleanor Roosevelt, "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."

The new Superior Care Home represents the culmination of three generations working to provide substance to their dream.
